Welcome to the Entity Relationship Diagramming Workshop!

YAY! You're IN!!

We're so excited you'll be joining us for the Entity Relationship Diagramming Workshop!

On September 18, from 1-4 PM Eastern, you'll create an entity relationship diagram, step-by-step, with Laura at your side, and then review it with peers. Use this time zone converter to find the day/time in your specific time zone.

A welcome email from training@bridging-the-gap.com is headed your way with details about how to join the workshop on Zoom.

Pre-Workshop Materials

Download the following materials and have them ready-at-hand on your computer:

Quick Reference - Entity Relationship Diagramming Symbols

Entity Relationship Diagramming Ideas

Entity Relationship Diagramming Software - Guide

Between now and the workshop start:

  1. Download the materials.
  2. Decide what domain to model. The best choice is for a project or area of the business you are working in right now. Be sure you understand the business terminology fairly well. If you aren’t currently assigned to a project, the list of ideas will give you a lot of alternatives to explore.
  3. Choose a software tool you can use to create the Entity Relationship Diagram. ANY tool you have is totally fine. If you are choosing a new tool, check out the Entity Relationship Diagram – Software Tools Guide to find an option that will work for you – several have free trials, so there doesn’t need to be any additional cost to you to get started.
  4. Prepare to be Present on Zoom – To participate in the live, virtual workshop, you’ll need to be able to launch a Zoom session and, ideally, be able to share video and audio, as Laura will often ask you clarifying questions. To participant in the peer review sessions, it is required that you can share your screen and communicate with your break-out group via audio.
